Faculty Civic Engagement Awards

Faculty Appointments and Advancement (FAA) promotes and administers campus awards for faculty such as the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Bynum Mentor Award, the Irwin Research Scholar Award, and the Chancellor's Professorships.

FAA also serves as the IUPUI conduit for the selection procedure for system awards such as the President's Distinguished Teaching Awards, the W. George Pinnell and John W. Ryan Service Awards, and Distinguished Professorships. Dossiers of successful applicants for these awards are available for review in the Center for Teaching and Learning, University Library Room 1125.

Do you know faculty that exemplify high standards of civic engagement, professional service, or service learning with documented records of achievement that include peer review, student evaluations, assessments from community organization representatives, and evidence of scholarly research, publication or presentations developed from the professional service to the community and civic engagement? NOMINATE THEM TODAY! for the Chancellor’s Faculty Award for Excellence in Civic Engagement.

RECOGNIZE YOUR COMMUNITY PARTNER!
Do you know of any community-based organization that has engaged in a partnership with an academic unit(s) at IUPUI that has resulted in documented positive differences in the community through teaching (e.g., service learning, clinical, internship), research, or professional service? NOMINATE THEM TODAY! for the Chancellor’s Community Award for Excellence in Civic Engagement.

Successful candidates will be honored at the Chancellor’s Honors Convocation on April 17, 2009.
